Lachlan:

365 days I’ve wanted Beth beneath me, begging for release. One long, angst-filled year we’ve circled each other, keeping things strictly professional.
But I’ve also got shit in my past that complicates relationships. And I should know better than to hope secrets can stay buried.

Hugh:

A year? Try ten. A decade ago, I let Lachlan walk away because deep down, I knew he needed something else.
As soon as I laid eyes on her, I understood what I was up against: he loves Beth. Looks at her in a way he’d never look at me.
I get it.
Curvy, smart, and bossy? I just might love her, too.

Beth:

Two men. Two first dates.
Two first kisses…
But this doesn’t feel like a love triangle.
Oh no. It’s much more complicated than that. I’m not complaining. I’m game for anything. I just have one rule: never at work.

SECURITY BRIEFING:

* Warning: there are no limits to these Mounties’ willingness to please
* Never underestimate the strength of a woman
* Sometimes the past can come back and bite you...if you're lucky
* Top-secret clearance means three doesn’t need to be a crowd

Full Mountie is the third story in Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller’s fun and steamy Frisky Beavers series. With a backdrop of Canadian politics, the antics of the Prime Minister and some of his kinky friends are the basis of the series, and in this particular story we get a handful of testosterone and kink when the PM’s executive assistant Beth finds herself falling for two handsome police officers who also have some history of their own.

Lachlan is the chief of security for the Prime Minister’s office, and this means he gets to keep an eye on Beth all the time. He’s got a crush on her but hasn’t pursued any relationship, believing his kinky side and their close working relationship makes her off limits. But then Beth goes on a date with Hugh, a man Lachlan had an affair with 10 years previously who has now joined the prime minister’s RCMP detail. There are some unresolved feelings between these two men – and they both want Beth. Will she have to choose one over the other? Or can the three of them find their way to a happy ending together?

Whew! My kindle screen got pretty steamed up reading this one! It definitely ranks up there as one of the hottest menage/triad stories I’ve read. The story is told from all three points of view and they get equal page time to delve into the emotional aspects of a triad romance. The story itself is fairly lighthearted with minimal angst, delving into the sexual aspects of their relationship early on, sometimes with just two of them and sometimes with all three. There are some BDSM aspects to their relationship as Lachlan identifies as submissive while Hugh is Dominant and Beth is quite happy discovering her own kinky side, having had a decidedly vanilla sex life before becoming involved in the social aspects of the prime minister’s life.

There are some complicated feelings and issues delved into here, with a second chance romance for Hugh and Lachlan and the realities of how to navigate this kind of relationship in public. I loved how all three characters have different issues to contend with coming into their relationship. Lucky for these three, they have some very understanding friends who can see the way the wind is blowing and just want the three of them to be happy. In the midst of the very sexy scenes, we also get some lovely sweet ones too with characters from the previous two books getting some cameos. There are some new characters introduced and some hints as to what’s coming up next (I can’t wait)! The story flows smoothly, interspersing timely political commentary into the romance and giving a believable if simplified idea of what it’s like to work out of the Prime Minister’s office. We get a suitable happy ending for this polyamorous trio and an epilogue that is probably wishful thinking but a cute touch. Full Mountie is a sexy, exciting and fun menage romance. It’s definitely going on my favorites shelf for 2017.
